Love is in the air, and what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with an enchanting concert of musical storytelling? Dance Del Bello invites you to join them for an unforgettable afternoon of dance at the Zlock Performing Arts Center at Bucks County Community College on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 3 PM.

“Love Notes” promises to be a captivating journey through the many facets of love, featuring a carefully curated selection of dance scenes that span genres, moods, and themes. From classic tales to contemporary interpretations, this mixed repertoire showcases the incredible talent of Dance Del Bello and its artistic director, Delphine Del Bello Spencer.

The program boasts a lineup of renowned choreographers alongside original works by Delphine Del Bello Spencer herself. Audiences will be treated to scenes from beloved classics such as Don Quixote and The Firebird, as well as the captivating original piece, Shitau.

In Act II, immerse yourself in the dream scene from Don Quixote, where the idealistic Don Quixote finds himself in a magical garden of dryads and cupids, accompanied by the enchanting music of Stravinsky’s score. The performance features the talented Gordon Foxwood as Don Quixote, alongside student company member Margaret Richards and new Dance Del Bello artist Eloise Haas-Pride.

Experience the mesmerizing Firebird Variations, where former Dance Del Bello artist Krista Pinkerton returns to the stage as the titular character, alongside Martin Scocelas-Hunter as Prince Ivan. Set to Stravinsky’s evocative score, this visually stunning piece is a true fairy tale come to life.

Local artist Alec Aversa takes center stage in Shitau, a thought-provoking piece that explores the complexities of tradition and following one’s heart. Choreographed by Delphine Del Bello Spencer, this captivating performance seamlessly blends classical modern dance with elements of traditional Kabuki.

The program also includes “Autumn Bacchanale” from Glazunov’s The Seasons, a joyous celebration of the changing seasons, and “Apotheosis,” a mesmerizing pas de deux featuring Sarah Brower and Martin Scocelas-Hunter.
