ONLINE – Chacarera and Zamba – Argentine Folklore with Luis & Amelia
December 4 @ 8:15 pm - 9:15 pm
An event every week that begins at 8:15 pm on Friday, repeating until December 4, 2020
Luis Carpi & Amelia Foss teach Argentine Folkloric Dances: Chacarera & Zamba
Learn these beautiful Argentine folkloric dances, which are more conducive both to dancing outside and to social distancing than our beloved tango. While this class will take place online, we hope to add a monthly outdoor (masked, distanced) chacarera & zamba practice, for those who are interested. Attendance at the outdoor gathering is not required in any way. You are welcome to just attend the online class.
Individuals and couples welcome
Luis Carpi has been dancing for 11 years. He has studied and trained folklore in Buenos Aires with Leandro Arjona. He fell in love with folklore and all of the community values that it can teach our youth. He looks forward to sharing these things with you and helping re-connect in a safe post COVID environment.
Amelia Foss fell in love with Argentine folklore with her first chacarera, and hasn’t looked back since. She’s been fortunate to learn and dance with beautiful folklore communities in the Americas and in Europe, and can’t wait to share the joy of these incredible dances with all of you.
