Choreographer Molly Shanahan’s critically-acclaimed evening-length quartet The Delicate Hour will receive its Philadelphia premiere in Temple University’s Conwell Dance Theater, on Friday and Saturday, January 23 & 24, 2015 at 7:30 PM. Peter Tchaikovsky’s famous, fairy-tale ballet, The Nutcracker, is coming to a local venue. The performances, sponsored by the Philadelphia-based International Ballet Exchange (IBE), are scheduled for December  20 and 21, 2014 at Plymouth/Whitemarsh High School, by the much acclaimed dance company, the Donetsk Ballet of Ukraine.  The company is on tour in the USA despite a raging civil war in their city and country.

For eleven years, the dancers of MM2 Modern Dance Company have been wowing crowds at Grounds For Sculpture with their modern dance performances. They will be returning again on Sunday, May 4th from 12:00 Noon – 3:00pm for the opening of Seward Johnson: The Retrospective with improvisations inspired by the artist’s work and the periods he recreated. The program is free with paid park admission and is weather contingent.
