[Philadelphia] The critically-acclaimed Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers (KYL/D), announce its 12th Spring Home Season performances at Drexel University’s Mandell Theater on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18, 2020. The program, MOVING REFLECTIONS ON THE ENVIRONMENT AND HUMANKIND, will feature the US premiere of FISH AND GIRL, a work that suggests the longing for what is lost in our environment as society marches forward. The program will also feature two acclaimed works: EMPTINESS OF SNOW, a global warming-inspired exploration of forces that are seen and unseen; and SANTUARIO — a moving response to the tragic shootings at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando.

[Philadelphia] – The Lady Hoofers Tap Ensemble is proud to present its third annual production of THE TAPCRACKER, an original all-tap, all-women version of the holiday classic that Camille Bacon-Smith of Broad Street Review hails as “a minor gem […] taking its rightful place among the Philadelphia holiday traditions on the Avenue of the Arts.” Due to audience demand, this year will include an additional Sunday matinee with performances taking place on Saturday, December 14 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm and Sunday, December 15 at 3:00pm at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, where the Ensemble will now present all their mainstage concerts. [Philadelphia] KYL/D announced four new dance artists have joined the company for the 2019/2020 season: Wangbo Zhu (company member), Ariel Isakowitz (company member), Sophie Malin (apprentice) and Emmanuel Williams (apprentice). Founding Artistic Director, Kun-Yang Lin remarked, “I am very excited to bring new and diverse dance artists into the company to add new sources of inspiration into the company’s repertoire and new work.”

The performance, a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Woodstock features eight company dancers and a live singer and will take place November 1-3, 2019 at Christ Church Neighborhood House, 20 N. I Spy, With My Little Eye slides down the Chutes and Ladders of youth into the Scrabble of your earliest memories. This interactive dance performance provides an opportunity to Connect Four a moment in the shared joys and toys of childhood experience. In this first performance by Kalila Kingsford Smith Dance (KKSD), the audience is invited to bring a childlike attention to the world.
This 55 minute show will run for 5 performances from September 12-15 at Mascher Space Cooperative in Kensington. General admission is $20, student tickets are $15, and children under the age of 12 can receive a discounted ticket at $5. Seating is limited.
