On March 13th and 14th, Alchemy Dance Company will return to the Arts Bank at The University of the Arts and reconnect with their roots as a dance theater company with the world premiere of Intersect.

An evening length work divided into two acts, Intersect combines energetic movement, dynamic rhythm, and powerful emotion to transport audiences into a timeless space to which all can relate. Through the raw emotional energy of Alchemy’s dancers, Intersect explores the visceral idea of the Outcast. Set to original music by composer Jonathan Bowles, Alchemy’s character and movement combine reality and illusion creating a reactive space outside of any specific time. Continue reading

Peter Tchaikovsky’s famous, fairy-tale ballet, The Nutcracker, is coming to a local venue. The performances, sponsored by the Philadelphia-based International Ballet Exchange (IBE), are scheduled for December  20 and 21, 2014 at Plymouth/Whitemarsh High School, by the much acclaimed dance company, the Donetsk Ballet of Ukraine.  The company is on tour in the USA despite a raging civil war in their city and country.
