FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Performance Garage is hosting its 2016 Gala Celebration and Fundraiser on Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 6pm-9pm, honoring Suzanne Roberts for her contributions to the Philadelphia dance community.  Featured during the evening are performances by BalletX, Koresh Dance Company, Philadanco, & Jeanne Ruddy.

Suzanne Roberts has provided financial support and encouragement to countless established and emerging artists in Philadelphia.  The Performance Garage is excited to be honoring her for her career in the arts, her philanthropic spirit, and our shared love of dance.

The Gala event will include a cocktail hour and reception held next-door at the Bethany Mission Gallery followed by the Honoree presentation and dance performance in the Performance Garage theater.  Some of the city’s most notable dance companies will be performing excerpts of their original dance works including BalletX, Koresh Dance Company, Philadanco, and Jeanne Ruddy.  There will also be a performance by the students from the Performance Garage Youth Outreach Program with their instructor Joseph “Liquidelphia” Ingram.

Funds raised by the event help support the Performance Garage’s vital programs. An incubator for local talent, the Performance Garage offers subsidized rental rates for dance artists to host classes, workshops, rehearsals, and productions as well as a free after-school dance program for neighborhood youth.
