Philadelphia Ballet is pleased to announce its updated and expanded student ticket pricing policy. In keeping with its commitment to making ballet accessible to a wider audience, Philadelphia Ballet will now offer free opening night performance tickets to any student presenting a valid ID. This policy applies to all future opening night performances, with the exception of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®. The company will continue to offer highly reduced, $10 student rush tickets, as well as $25 general rush tickets, for all upcoming productions excluding The Nutcracker.
“Ballet is for everyone, and we are thrilled to take this step to make our performances more accessible to students of all ages and backgrounds,” said Shelly Power, the Dr. Carolyn Newsom Executive Director. “As a company, we are always challenging ourselves to remove the historic barriers that have prevented audiences from accessing and engaging with ballet. It is our hope that this expanded student ticket program will provide an opportunity for new audiences to experience the vibrant and dynamic works performed on our stages.”
Philadelphia Ballet’s free opening night student ticket program is open and available to any current student, regardless of age, region or level of education. Students who present a valid ID at the box office on an opening night will receive a complimentary ticket (subject to availability). Student rush tickets for other performances are priced at $10.
Complimentary opening night student ticketing and student rush do not apply to performances of The Nutcracker. All opening night tickets for The Nutcracker are priced at just $10, and tickets for all other Philadelphia Ballet performances start at $25.
