Collaboration between award-winning companies Almanac Dance Circus Theatre and Die-Cast reimagines an audience favorite immersive production for digital space
A time of great change and scarcity is coming. As the seven planets align with Saturn, the seven pods of the Bumblefish will gather, and the Bumblefish must choose only one to be the single bearer of his great teachings. After all, times are tough and cutbacks are to be expected. Will the enigmatic Mystic pod finally prevail? Are the Fools as innocent as they seem? Each pod has particular skills and wisdom, but ultimately, only one can survive. As audience members navigate the mysterious and alluring world of the Order, their allegiances will be tested, and their actions may determine the fate of the world.
This year’s Fleecing offers a poignant exploration of blind loyalty and the dangers of central figurehead. Almanac Dance Circus Theatre brings Die-Cast into the mix, creating a super-ensemble of 20 powerhouse performers from Philadelphia and beyond. Audience members choose their own path through the story. They can have their fortune told in a private zoom, wander the archives of the mysterious 7 tribes, or enjoy a stunning aerial performance as they unravel the mystery of the Bumblefish. Be wary: not all is as it seems, and power feverishly sought corrupts even the truest of souls.
