On Saturday February 11th and Sunday February 12th, Coaction Dance Collective will premiere their third production: co·a·lesce. Coalesce is to “come together and form a whole; into one body; as to form one community”, bringing to life CDC’s mission to collaborate with the artistic community to create a holistic and unique performance.
co·a·lesce features guest choreographer Megan Mizanty of MizantyMoves Dance Works, who has a created a lighthearted and contact-heavy work with CDC founders Gracianna Coscia, Emma MacDonald and Julee Mahon. This will be the premiere performance of the trio in an ongoing tour of the work (including performances in Brooklyn and Saratoga Springs, New York). Coscia and Mahon will present original works, as well.
Saturday’s program will also feature Amanda Keller, Allie Linn, 5th Digit Dance, Katie Horton & Artists, and Retro Flow. Sunday’s program will also feature Lyons and Tigers, Primal Descent, The Interaction Project, Molly Woytowicz, Michele Olivia Francois, and Retro Flow.
The choreographers will present their works in the vibrant Northern Liberties community at The Maas Building. co·a·lesce is CDC’s third production as a collective and is a culmination of their past performances and partnerships. It brings together the creativity of the collective with their desire to collaborate with the community, resulting in a performance with a diverse cast of emerging dance artists of various choreographic styles and experiences.
