FDR Park Philadelphia – A Hidden Gem
Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) Park (originally named League Island Park and locally known as the “Lakes”) is an aesthetically designed park located along the Delaware River in the southernmost point of South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, comprising some 348 acres.

Featured Dancer – Kaila Moses
Kaila Moses is currently a Junior at Fordham University at Lincoln Center and The Ailey School; in 2015 she will graduate with a BFA in dance. Kaila began her dance career at Kicks Academy of Dance at the age of five. She then joined the company program at Kicks at the age of nine. The company program allowed her to train more throughout the week and have greater opportunities to perform in the annual year-end recitals and competitions throughout the dance season. In 2009 she was honored to win the Regional Teen Outstanding Dancer award at New York City Dance Alliance’s regional convention. Kaila began choreographing when she was thirteen. During her senior year of high school she had experienced an amazing process of choreographing a competition group routine. The routine won overall high score  and an Odyssey award. In college, she is continuing to explore creating choreography. Her choreography was selected to appear in Global Harmony student choreography showcase. In the summers, Kaila has participated in various intensives such NYCDA and Complexions Summer Dance. Most recently, Kaila was invited to attend a three week program in Paris, France called Dance New York International Paris. Not only was it amazing for her to take in the sights and dance in another country, but she was thrilled to take classes from former principle dancers of the Paris Opera Ballet. Kaila aspires to be in a modern or contemporary dance company after graduation. She also hopes to teach dance to the future generation of dancers. Kaila resides in Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania .

Juan Irizarry is a Philadelphia based photographer, founder of the Philadelphia Dance Photo Project. Juan seeks to showcase the city’s beautiful architecture, important history and diverse people through photographs that incorporate the vibrant and growing Philadelphia dance community. The Philadelphia Dance Photo Project has not been limited to just ballet, but seeks to capture all genres of dance.  Juan became a professional photographer in 2007, he has served as president of local camera club’s, taught workshops on the basics of photography and won several international photography contests. Additionally he has a successful career as an IT professional specializing in database administration spanning more than 2 decades.
