SHARP Dance to premiere five new works

At a new location this year, SHARP’s ten dancers will premiere five new pieces including the full length “Blind Faith”.  SHARP brings its addictive kinetic energy to the Spanish flavored “Con toda al Alma” and collaborates with two guest choreographers:  Parsons Dance Company member, Steven Vaughn and Kevin Ferguson for two intriguing new pieces.  SHARP is a ten member modern dance company that enjoys not only strong technical dance but incorporating that with various collaborators.  SHARP has partnered with Photographers, Digital Artists and Prop/Set Designers to create new enticing work.  Among SHARP’s pieces in this performance you will see collaborations with various artists such as: composer Jason Andrew and Costume Designer Brian Strachan to connect their artistry with dance.  SHARP’s new work incorporates eccentric partnering and intense unison material.

SHARP strives to bring together a company of strong dancers to perform work with a new vision.  Their mission is to translate raw human emotion utilizing contemporary movement to connect the audience through individual interpretation.

This five-year-old modern company and its theory of “meaning behind movement” is shown prominently throughout its work.  SHARP feels that dance should be more than a performance, it should be an experience.
