Paul Selwyn Norton, a rising star on the Dutch dance scene, will be in Philadelphia setting a new work on Koresh Dance Company.  This will be the first time Paul has worked with a dance company in Philadelphia. 19 minutes difference will be premiered during Koresh’s upcoming season at the Suzanne Roberts Theater April 30th – May 3rd.

19 minutes difference will be a choreographic analysis of 5 peoples’ different perceptions of an accident. Perceptions, where sensations and accounts can vary surprisingly from one victim or witness to the next, or in an instant be suddenly united. The idea of 19 minutes difference is to create a forensic choreography; a kind of crime/accident scene investigation in dance. The dance vocabulary will be based on material derived from the idea of crashed physical events. These events, Norton will develop with the dancers themselves and will range from the violent to the most tender, brutal to the most lyrical. Counterpoint being the key. 19 minutes difference will be a group work for the Koresh dancers to the music of Jose Luis Greco, piano solo.
