In Process: showing of Jeanne Ruddy’s new work.

FREE Open Studio Showing of Jeanne Ruddy’s new work-in-progress.

Jeanne Ruddy Dance

“I plan to deconstruct the process of exactly how I came to the movements I have used and how the dancers actually learn those movements. I will answer, “what is the technique” behind the movements as well as show the difficult process of developing the original phrases and then demonstatre the breaking apart using canons, fragmentation, and rhythmic changes.

Then, finally I will show a sneak preview of a completed section of the new work. I’m hoping Ellen Fishman Johnson, composer, will be a part of this event. Jeffrey Wirsing, our costume designer will travel down from NY to be present.

After all that, wine, sparkling water, and modest nibbles will be served. All this begins at 6 pm and should end by 7:30. (Everyone should plan to go to Osteria (Broad and Mt. Vernon St.) for dinner afterwards.)

Please begin to invite your friends and families. This is a free event and a wonderful opportunity to introduce future audience members and supporters.”
