Job Description

The Lady Hoofers Tap Ensemble seeks an intern to join our team for the 2019-2020 season. Potential for long-term employment. This internship is a unique opportunity to learn about non-profit management and the performing arts, to receive mentorship in multiple aspects of arts administration and production, and to build relationships within the Philadelphia dance community.

Time Commitment:

  • September 2019 – May 2020 with the option to continue long-term
  • 5-8 hours per week; work will be completed remotely with 2-3 in person meetings per month with company management (Meetings can be scheduled in Philadelphia and/or South Jersey, in addition to at our rehearsal studio)
  • Performance weekends include extended hours in the theatre (December 13-15, 2019 and May 15-16, 2020)
  • Staffing occasional community performances, master classes, and workshops

Job Duties:

  • Day-to-day operations for a non-profit dance company
  • Research and create content for social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
  • Assist with marketing and audience engagement at company performances and events
  • Work with company directors to develop and maintain donor relations and seek additional fundraising opportunities
  • Assist with writing and distributing press releases and other marketing materials
  • Build relationships with local studios, schools, and dance companies for advertising and cross promotional opportunities
  • Maintain merchandise inventory and distribution


  • Paid position (part-time)
  • Willing to work with your university for credit in lieu of or in addition to pay depending on university policy
  • Gain hands-on experience in the day-to-day operation of a non-profit arts organization
