The Performance Garage invites all dance lovers to join us for Hub Chats, relaxed group dialogues focusing on relevant topics for Philadelphia performing artists. Come with questions, stories to share, or just lend a supportive ear.

Next topic: What does a sustainable dance practice look like?

    When: Monday, November 19, 2018 @ 5:00-6:30 PM
Coming from work? Join us any time.
    Cost: FREE

Bonus: All participants will receive a coupon to rent Studio B at $5 an hour, and Studio A at $10 an hour during the entire month of December.

At our next meeting, we will focus on what it means to have a sustainable dance practice. This is a broad topic that will be influenced by the interests of the group at hand. Directions in which the conversation could go include how to maintain a proper work-life balance, how to create artistic work without breaking the bank, and how to stay physically and mentally healthy with limited resources. Dance artists are often working more hours than their peers, producing work with little to no funding, and working jobs that do not provide health insurance. Come brainstorm with other artists about ways to make your dance practice and life as a performing artist sustainable.
