Burgundy Blue Dance’s Dive Into Dance Intensive is a 6 week intensive where the dancers will take classes Monday through Friday from 10am-4pm. They will have Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Contemporary on their daily schedule and then they will have workshops with artists in the dance industry, seminars about how to create a resume, and even have mock auditions and interviews to prepare them for the future.
The intensive runs from July 8-August 16 and is a dance intensive for young artists (ages 13-18) to learn and explore the working world of dance. We provide a wide range of dance education that includes ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, musical theater, improvisation, composition, hip hop, and yoga. Students will be immersed in the professional dance world as they prepare for a show at the end of the intensive that they will help create, promote, and execute. Not only that, but they will have head shots taken and learn how to work with film directors an to dance on camera.
Dance students will be chosen based off technique, enthusiasm, focus, and eagerness to learn more about the dance industry. The audition is set for May 25th from 3:30-5:30pm at Ballroom Philadelphia in South Philly. The address is 1207 Gerritt St, Philadelphia, PA 19147. Dancers should be prepared to do a group jazz warm up, jazz across the floor, a ballet center combination, and learn a short contemporary or modern combination. There will also be a short improvisation section. They should also have a 30-45 second solo ready to perform that showcases her best abilities and personality as a dancer! Audition spots must be reserved via email at burgundybluedance@gmail.com
