Equilibrium Dance Academy – Tap Level 1

Tap Level 1 is a Tap dance class for students starting at age 9 who have no experience or little experience taking tap classes. This class is taught by Ms. Angelica who is the Artistic Director. Angelica’s intense tap dance training began at the Young Performers Theater Camp where she took tap class every day for six weeks during the summer. She attended this dance program for six years. Her training continued with such notable teachers as Jacob Guzman and David Guzman, who both starred in the Broadway musical Newsies. Angelica has showcased her tap skills at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival and for the Garden State Festival. She has also choreographed dances that were featured at Temple University, Disney World, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Spring UP Dance Festival and the ETC Performance Series. She also been the Artistic Director for Dance One Studios DO TAP pre-professional tap dance company since 2016.

Equilibrium Dance Academy: Jazz-Tap Combo Class for ages 6-8

Our Jazz/Tap Combo Class is for dancers who are getting introduced to tap and jazz dance. This class ranges from 6-8 years old and learning all of the basics before moving into a higher level class. This class is taught by our amazing teacher Ms. Julee. Julee Mahon has been dancing since the age of two. She began training in her hometown of Bridgewater at the Serova School of Dance. In high school Julee was accepted to attend the Somerset County Vocational and Technical High School as a part of their Gifted and Talented Dance Program. In 2009 Julee moved to Philadelphia to attend Temple University. Julee graduated from Temple University with a BFA in Dance. Upon graduation she received the Francis Bowden Scholarship for High Performance and Choreographic Ability. While at Temple University, she had the opportunity to work with many talented artists such as Phillip Grosser, Kun-Yang Lin, Joellen Meglin, Dr. Luke Kahlich Merian Soto, Ellie Goudie-Averill, and Beau Hancock. Julee has performed with dance companies such as LEVYDance, Mizanty Moves Danceworks, Tiffany Mills Dance Company And Leah Stein Dance Company. She has also worked with freelance artists such as Camille Halsey, Allie Linn, Molly Woytowicz, and Darcy Lyons.

Beginner-Intermediate Tap Technique with Teagan Nurnberger

Recommended for students who have an understanding of technique like flaps, shuffles, paddle and rolls and time steps/1+ years of recent and experience for this class. Class consists of a warm-up and center phrase. Tap shoes are recommended.
