About Ray:
Ray Hesselink is a director and choreographer living and working in New York City. Ray has had the privilege to help train the children performing in Broadway’s Billy Elliot: The Musical.

As a dancer, Ray created the role of Mr. Happy in Derick Grant’s Imagine Tap! As a performer, Ray’s favorite performances include originating the role of “Bud” in Batboy: The Musical. He has also been featured as a principal dancer in Nayikas, a classical Indian Dance Company.

Ray has choreographed for many venues including New York Musical Theater Festival, The Duke Theater, Symphony Space, Yale Drama School and as a contributing choreographer to Heatwave: The Jack Cole Story, and co-writer/choreographer to I Heart Bob at Joyce SoHo, which won a rave review from the NY Times. Ray is also on faculty at Juilliard.

Equilibrium Dance Academy: Jazz-Tap Combo Class for ages 6-8

Our Jazz/Tap Combo Class is for dancers who are getting introduced to tap and jazz dance. This class ranges from 6-8 years old and learning all of the basics before moving into a higher level class. This class is taught by our amazing teacher Ms. Julee. Julee Mahon has been dancing since the age of two. She began training in her hometown of Bridgewater at the Serova School of Dance. In high school Julee was accepted to attend the Somerset County Vocational and Technical High School as a part of their Gifted and Talented Dance Program. In 2009 Julee moved to Philadelphia to attend Temple University. Julee graduated from Temple University with a BFA in Dance. Upon graduation she received the Francis Bowden Scholarship for High Performance and Choreographic Ability. While at Temple University, she had the opportunity to work with many talented artists such as Phillip Grosser, Kun-Yang Lin, Joellen Meglin, Dr. Luke Kahlich Merian Soto, Ellie Goudie-Averill, and Beau Hancock. Julee has performed with dance companies such as LEVYDance, Mizanty Moves Danceworks, Tiffany Mills Dance Company And Leah Stein Dance Company. She has also worked with freelance artists such as Camille Halsey, Allie Linn, Molly Woytowicz, and Darcy Lyons.
