The Legacy Project – technique classes for ages 30+
January 11 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Tuesday and Friday, repeating indefinitely

Welcome to The Legacy Project, Philadelphia, where dancers over 30(ish) are encouraged to attend a safe weekly class designed to minimize injury, maintain range of motion and encourage artistic fulfillment and exploration. Trained, experienced professionals have a store of body knowledge that is worth articulating, preserving and sharing. With this in mind, The Legacy Project aims to bring together dance professionals of all genres for weekly maintenance classes designed specifically for the wise moving body. Classes are ballet and contemporary-based and will include safe warm up principles, range of motion (ROM) maintenance and non-traditional work that is underpinned by years of research on aging and ROM. Together we will build a supportive community acknowledging decades of practice and experience, where discussion and knowledge transfer encourages professionals to preserve and share their legacies.
Class fees:

1x per week monthly card: 60.00 (20.00 discount)

Facilitator/Instructor: Janine Bryant, BFA, MA, PhD (Candidate), SFHEA, is a Registered Provider and Assessor with Safe in Dance International. Her desire to focus on and learn more about aging and range of motion for dancers is what drives her research. Janine’s primary goal is to share this knowledge in a safe and judgement-free space, to offer a traditional class in a non-traditional way, and to create a community of dancers who can celebrate their collective knowledge and draw upon decades of hard work, sacrifice and dedication. Janine’s secondary goal through The Legacy Project is to allow for joyful movement exploration without the traditional restrictions that dancers are often asked to adhere to in early training scenarios.
