Shannon Murphy – Virtual – Franklin Method Moves

This digital movement class can be located at the crossroads between meditation, science class, and dance party!
Open to all skill levels. (Past participants have been both professional dancers and seniors with movement restrictions in the same class!)
Franklin Method is a somatic practice that combines functional anatomy, imagery, and movement to explore how your body feels. Shannon has been a level 3 certified Franklin Method practitioner since 2009 and specializes in Franklin Method for Dance. This class combines the Franklin Method and dance designed for any level mover. Variations can be made for all skill levels
Class includes a mix of mindfulness, meditation, gentle movements, practices for improving your balance, strength, and flexibility, free-movement/improvised movement, guided movement sequences, and an occasional dance party! Participants should have enough space to stand and stretch out into a big “X” safely. For those who need it, modifications can be made so that you can sit in a chair.
