Marco de Ana is an artist who draws from many areas of the arts. His interests have led him from the purists sources of flamenco, formed mainly through study with José Galván and Mario Maya, to different types of dance, such as classical ballet at the Dance Conservatory in Seville and the Susana María Rodríguez Jerez “Pas de deux” School of Classical Ballet, also in Seville.
His personal vision, creativity, and quality of dance has led him to work with many of the worlds most renowned flamenco artists such as Israel and Pastora Galván, act as a choreographic assistant on pieces such as “French” and “The end of this state of affairs” (and redux), dance as a soloist in some of the best tablaos in Seville, Madrid, Granada, and Barcelona, as well as professionally with the Company of Israel Galván.
Marco de Ana has toured throughout Japan, the United States, South Korea, Italy, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, and Slovakia. In 2006, he recorded a DVD for dance for the Flamenco Roots & Flemish Heritage Collection. His artistic interests have led him to create his own works, presenting his first work “step by step” in the Chumbera, Granada. His work “Inheritance” pays tribute to the most authentic legacy and desmaquillado of the flamenco art form. In 2007, his work “Chemistry” premiered in Vienna with guitarist José Carrillo and singer Ismael Fernandez de la Rosa. His most recent work, ”Water is going pa rivers” premiered in 2008 in Holland.
