Koresh Dance – Introduction to Hip Hop with Ryan
February 23 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 2:00 pm on Sunday, repeating until January 16, 2022
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! An absolute beginning class that will introduce basic hip hop vocabulary and emphasize proper posture, muscle development, flexibility, musicality, and grace of movement. Steps are introduced incrementally so that self-esteem and technique develop in a positive atmosphere. This class is highly recommended for first time students and those who are unfamiliar with basic dance technique.
Ryan James Stauffer, former dancer with Koresh Dance Company, attended the University of the Arts as a Ballet major. Since college he has toured as a backup dancer for actress and recording artist Raven Symone and performed in the film “Bolden!” choreographed by Hinton Battle. Pursuing musical theatre, he later performed in “Hairspray” “The Producers” “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” and “Curtains” at the Walnut Street Theatre where he earned his Actor’s Equity status. He has been teaching dance for over 10 years in the Philadelphia area. He has taught a variety of styles at numerous studios including Jovo Dance Studio, Philadelphia Studio Ballet and Koresh School of Dance. Currently, Ryan teaches adult hip hop class at Koresh studios, as well as with the Koresh Kids Dance Outreach program under the direction of Teresa VanDenend Sorge.
