The Lady Hoofers at FDR Park

May 25 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Join the Lady Hoofers Tap Ensemble, Philadelphia’s premier all-female tap company, for a FREE performance at the FDR Park Boathouse in honor of National Tap Dance Day! Dancers will perform original choreography and improvised works. Audience members will be invited to celebrate Bill “Bojangles” Robinson with games, stories and a chance to learn a historic tap routine, the Shim Sham Shimmy.

Parks on Tap will also be onsite with food and drinks for purchase!

This event is presented by the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy as part of Performances in Public Spaces, a summer series of FREE cultural performances in parks and plazas across Philadelphia neighborhoods. From May through October, the annual series brings arts and culture experiences to local outdoor spaces. All Performances in Public Spaces are free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged but not required.
