The Alt.terre: Work in Progress Showing

The Alt.terre works explicitly towards things that evade language. How do you choreograph states of consciousness? How do you make those states perceivable to the audience? Can altered states be contagious? These are some of the things we are trying to grapple with in our creative process. It feels like we are collectively striving to touch the ineffable. In this piece, five female performers dance along an edge where deeply embodied movement practices tip into alternate states of consciousness. The Alt.terre is a conjuring, an incantation to bring forth the possibility of other worlds.

The space will be open from 4pm-6pm prior to the performance for light refreshments and an open studio. Choreographer Megan Bridge and the dancers will be on-site, warming up and answering questions. The showing will begin at 6pm, followed by a discussion with the artists: Megan, Composer Peter Price, and dancers Meghan Frederick, Rhonda Moore, Tiana Sanders, Mijkalena Smith, and Sheila Zagar.
