Revival Walks at Tacony Creek Park with Lela Aisha Jones & Company
August 5 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
One event on August 7, 2021 at 6:30 pm
Join us for our culminating Revival Walks led by choreographer, movement performance artist, and interdisciplinary collaborator Lela Aisha Jones. These sound and embodied processionals will sense you through a portion of the Tookany/Tacony Creek Park at sunrise or sunset with an ensemble of artists, performers, and facilitators that will guide you along the way.
Since 2019 the Revival Walks have been in development with Melissa Talley-Palmer, Folaranmi Afolayan, Dr. Jamē McCray, and Mama Carla Wiley to revive and affirm orientations of reciprocity with nature through movement and our bodies. These performative and interactive events are grounded in Black Diaspora, cultural and spiritual practices of African descent.
Groups will be no more than 15 people. As a group, we will adhere to CDC safety guidelines. To attend the walks on August 5 or August 7, all participants must register in advance. The walks are free and open to the public.
