The Quiet Room examines the internal and external notions of Alzheimer’s victims through movement. The movers attempt to track their improvised movements and patterns while crucial components of their archetype fade away. They fight to keep their memory alive from their impending yet uncertain outcome.
The Quiet Room is a movement piece designed by an independent artist to create awareness about Alzheimer’s. During this year’s Fringe Festival we will learn, reminisce, and fundraise for the Alzheimer’s Association in their fight to find a cure for this horrible disease through dance. The choreographer, Hailey Hubbs, holds a Bachelors degree in dance from Rowan University. Hailey is a dance instructor at a South Jersey dance studio, Dance Xperience, and an upcoming choreographer in the south Jersey/Philadelphia region. She has trained under former Philadanco dancer and choreographer, Dawn Bazemore, as well as other credible artists such as Leslie Elkins (also a performer in The Quiet Room), Paule Turner, Beau Handcock, Jennifer Gordon, Mea Pangia and many others.
