Bone, Fascia, Blood, and Breath with Nicole Bindler

Meet at entrance to Dorrance Galleries
Take an experiential, interactive walk/wheel/dance through Designs for Different Futures with performing artist Nicole Bindler. Explore and celebrate the ways the human body’s gifts and needs have inspired works in this exhibition. All people, bodies, and abilities are welcome to participate.

AndroMeda by Zornitsa Stoyanova
7:15 p.m.
Great Stair Hall
A journey through a futuristic dystopian psyche, AndroMeda comments on the lust for the new and shiny and the cost and gain of technology to our humanness. Choreographed by Stoyanova, this performance features Megan Bridge, Elba Hevia y Vaca, and Rhonda Moore.

Ever looked at a work of art and wondered what stories aren’t being told? Wit López & TheyFolk lead an alternate journey through the American art galleries in this original performance of music, storytelling, and dance.

Free Water with Shelley Spector
6:00–9:00 p.m.
Resnick Rotunda 261
In a choreographed performance, a machinelike, yet very human system bottles museum tap water in found containers and gives it as a gift. Free Water counters the convenience of waste and imagines an inefficient future in which the human hand is placed back into an automated process.

DIY Art: Makeup Tutorial with Ariel Versace

Great Stair Hall Balcony
YouTube makeup-tutorial sensation Ariel Versace gives tips on perfecting your look while maintaining your digital anonymity. This program is inspired by CV Dazzle, which uses highly stylized face makeup and hairstyling to protect the wearer against CV (computer vision) face-detection technology. CV Dazzle is featured in Designs for Different Futures.

Sound Workshop with Madam Data

Join sound artist Ada Adhiyatma (aka Madam Data) for an interactive workshop on digital-interface design for audio instruments and its intersections with spirituality, bodily autonomy, and higher dimensional geometry.

Detour with Mary Maggic

Meet in gallery 364
How are bodies represented to fulfill gender norms? How do art and science shape our perceptions of gender? Mary Maggic explores representations of the body in the art of the past and speculates on possibilities for the future. Be sure to find Mary Maggic’s speculative video Housewives Making Drugs in the exhibition.

Journey through chronos and cosmos with the legendary Arkestra, directed by Marshall Allen.
