Xiaomeng Ma presents “Seed” :
The land is not a mere space field, because it is not just the stage of history, it is also a place to listen to the word of God, and it is more than the space of the contract, it is the misfit mind that is no longer displacement, and can be Located.

— The Land : Place as Gift, Promise, and Challenge in Biblical Faith

“Seed” explores the relationships between the land and people from the idolatrous worship of the land to the deification of the land, and finally interdependent on each other in different perspectives, including the religious beliefs, the ethnic cultures, and the instinct requirements. The project combines the techniques of folk dance and contemporary dance, and uses the performers’ bodies to tell the stories about the land and people.

Scott Park presents “Escape” :
This work explores the concept of ‘escapism.’ It looks at how a person would escape from the world by doing, consuming, or in taking part of something. Escapism can be helpful towards a person in many ways; however, some taken too much can have a negative impact on one’s life. Throughout this work, I look at themes of rock concerts, bullying, the desire to find love, alcohol consumption, aggression and violence (Woodstock 99), and the battle a person may endure trying to find a balance between happiness, escapism, and the real world. This work includes specific bands, songs, concerts, and pop culture material and events that have had an impact on escapism in my life.

Get ready to put your devil horns in the air and sing along with the music! Yes, seriously!

“I created a fake world maybe because I didn’t like the one I was living in.”
