A new residency program for Philadelphia based dance artists created by PhiladelphiaDANCE.org
This residency focuses on contemporary dance makers, offering choreographers concentrated time and a private space in which to explore new ideas.
Artists will each be awarded 24 hours of rehearsal time during a six-week period in one of several area venue partners. The culmination of the residency will include performance of work in progress or completed work. Performance technical support and artist marketing will be provided by PhiladelphiaDANCE.org
In addition, Artists may elect to also have a Residency advisor meeting/showing with Zornitsa Stoyanova. Though series of questions and conversation, she will help the artist, distill and illuminate their vision. The two hour period will be guided by the need of the artist and their curiosity, thus, it could be a showing, a conversation or a class.
Artists from all five counties of Philadelphia may apply. No travel, housing or additional stipend is provided. Artists will be chosen from a competitive application process and reviewed by a panel of professionals in the dance field on the basis of artistic merit, description of intent for the residency and work samples.
