Leah Stein Dance Company presents an introspective concert of dance at Susan Hess Modern Dance Studio.  In Retrospect explores new improvisational scores and revisits past works. The Company, typically known for dancing in unusual sites, returns to the studio, where Leah Stein began her Philadelphia career. LSDC’s lush and interconnected dancing will be heightened in this intimate setting. The evening will also feature long-time collaborator Toshi Makihara and a solo performance by Leah Stein.

LSDC creates dance works for the stage and outdoor sites that highlight the interaction between people, their culture and the physical environment. LSDC works with nontraditional approaches to creating dances with a focus on juxtapositions and interrelationships between movement, sound, object and place. Collaboration is central to the mission and most works include musicians, visual artists, and local communities.
